Jose, I will now send you the exact message you will receive from exedelistens@viasat.com. The truth to your situation and others is Exede has changed data from some services to be considered "streaming data" and everyone will now use much more data than before. See below.
We
recently upgraded our software to more accurately distinguish between
“Streaming media” and “web browsing.” As a result, you may find more of your
internet usage falling into the “streaming media” category, including usage of
Steam YouTube, Facebook Video, Hulu, Amazon Video, Apple TV, and “User Group”
websites. This may affect you experience accessing these services when you have
exceeded your data allowance”.
“Streaming media” counts against your data allowances whereas “web browsing”
does not. Over the years, many content providers have changed their delivery
methods, making it difficult for us to distinguish between “streaming Media”
and “web browsing”. To address this, we have his historically errored on the
side of classifying certain “streaming media content as “web browsing content.”
I hope this information has been informative, if you have any further questions
or concerns please give us a call at 866.945.3258. Have a wonderful
day.
Thank you for choosing ViaSat, provider of Exede and Wildblue internet
services, as your internet provider. We appreciate your business.

Only the Evolution plans make a distinction.

I thought that the algorithm change applied only to the Evolution plan?
In any event, websites themselves are in a constant state of change and those of us with data caps must change with it.
The old "I haven't changed a thing" may very well be true but that doesn't hold true for the websites we visit.
Having said that ... why not reduce the amount of data we use right at the source and keep an eye on the constant changes.
Installing certain browser extensions to block some website content can certainly increase our "data mileage".
This may require that you use a different browser for certain activities as not all extensions are available for all browsers.
Install AdBlock Plus to reduce the data used by Ads that we really don't want to see anyway:
Install Flashblock to prevent flash objects imbedded in webpages:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/flashblock/
Now here is a big ... HTML5 video "pre-fetch" ... not to be confused with "auto-start" of videos.
Many sites now "preload" embedded video content so that the video is already loaded and ready to go ..... in the event that you MAY wish to view it ... and this one will eat your data alive without you even being aware of it ... no clues at all.
Install Flash Control:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-Us/firefox/addon/flash-control/
Bottom-line: If you don't take control of your Network and connected devices .. they will take control of your limited data.

All indications are that the change was to include HTML5 media which was previously not being counted on Evolution - making the Flash Control suggestion particularly appropriate for everyone now.

There has been a pass by Microsoft on February's "Patch Tuesday". Delayed until March due to issues.
