Data consumption spikes and slow speeds...

I've had the Exede Freedom Plan for like 5>years now and the last six months (with no change to habits or new devices)  it seems like every single month I am nearly capped or going over my limit... In the past I would ALWAYS have about 50g left over at the end of the month.

Now the newest thing is abysmally slow speeds. I can't stream music, videos, or really even view websites half the time and when you call in for help they tell you every time there is an outage or it's on your end. 

I've bypassed the router to check it. I've reset it. I've had them reset it. I've done everything on my end and still they tell  me the speed tests I tell them on my end are wrong and that they are getting better speeds. It's always with a slightly condescending tone. Just tonight they are telling me that my modem is offline.... which is frankly hilarious because the phone I was talking to them was on Exede Voice!

If you are seeing slower speeds that Viasat is from your modem, then it is indeed on your end. Router, computer, other devices connected, it's something that IS NOT between the modem and the internet. Keep investigating, test with one CLEAN computer hard wired to the modem and, nothing else connected. Wired vs wireless can make a HUGE difference, as it does on my system.

It is not my modem. It was their outage.  I am not an imbecile... don't throw peanut craptacular answers at me and expect it to fix the issue. This is NOT the issue.  Just like my devices being disconnected from the internet, my router being secured, living out in the boonies and NOONE home and in ONE day 10% of my data is gone. You people are thieves.

If you are convinced that nothing was connected, no phone, tablet, computer, TV or other IOT thing and data was used then, email exedelistens@viasat.com with your account and contact information and, request a usage review.
