Exede has to build, launch and get a new satellite operational and insure they have the ground support that satellite needs to provide bandwidth to us. Each satellite can only handle so much data so, they have to meter the service to give as many people as possible than need it at least some internet access.
Adding cables and computers takes weeks or months, building and launching new satellites takes years and, satellites are a lot more expensive than a few thousand miles of cable.

Alex, you stated ".and the new one [satellite] we're launching early next year..."
Please let me know why it is not being launched this year, as previously stated?
" When we launch our next satellite in 2016, we’ll have substantially more flexibility in terms of usage and bandwidth across the country. ( http://www.exede.com/freedom/)

Viasat decided to go with a different launch company and, had to take the earliest launch date that company had so, we all have to wait.

You're right, even 30 GB is not much data these days but, with controlling updates, a good ad and large media blocker and, limiting streaming of videos and music, you can get those games or even a movie or two a week depending on your plan.
I beta test for two different game producers and, I do keep my operating systems, antivirus and drivers up to date on all of my devices. I rarely go over my 30 GB allotment and, my partner does use Facebook a bit and, I Twitter now and then. You just have to decide what is most important to you to use your internet for and, find ways to eliminate or minimize less important uses of your data.
If you are interested in any of the tools, tips and tricks I use to manage data consumption, just ask.

Still given that there is no other internet other than Hughes net which is slower, I'm content with what I have. Sure more data will be great but, that is coming as soon as Viasat can get it for us. Certainly not unlimited but even another 20 GB would let me do a lot more online so, I'm hoping for that at least.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that's when companies use the least amount of bandwidth, However my elderly mother has Green Light provider and she watches movies and Youtube all day with no data caps and her payments are much cheaper than EXCEDE. There's something strange about this.

Satellite internet is a last resort for those of us having no other viable options. Anyone choosing satellite over a reliable land-based alternative has chosen poorly.

The good news is you can share in all of this "greed" by buying stock at around $70 per share and your portion of the earnings would come out to somewhere around 43 cents per share - don't spend it all in one place. Of course you won't see any of it since they don't pay dividends, but you might be fortunate enough to find someone who'll pay more for your shares than you did. But I'll pass with a P/E ratio that's in the stratosphere.
