constantly resetting modem router

We have to constantly reset our modem/router. The connection is slow. I can't connect my printer through Wi-Fi. If we try to watch Netflix it is constantly buffering. I don't even know how many times I have to reconnect my satellite to the internet. I'm sorry but this is just ridiculous.

What plan are you on? Do you still have priority data?

No, I have not. I have only had the new plan a little over a month.

Have you tried bypassing the built-in router and use your old router? You don't have to use the built-in router and some on here don't recommend using it (I personally wouldn't as a have a far superior and more capable router already in place).

If I can figure that out, I'll try it. I know that before using their modem and my own router, I had much better range and I didn't have to reset it all the time.

I had this note for myself, which may be of use. I haven't tried yet since I'm working away from home:

"There's no issue with connecting a third-party router to our modem. You may want to disable the wifi on our modem to prevent interference though."   (Employee Matt B c11/2017.)

Thank you, I'm going to try it. I'll let you know how it goes.
