I have to reset wireless network adapter every other day. I can fix it by going to windows troubleshoot. But what is causing this and how do I fix. I have Cisco Linksys E100 adapter.

Common problem with the Linksys routers. They keep losing the IP address, and need to be rebooted. I solved my problem a few years back by upgrading to a nice ASUS wireless router. Additional feature is the traffic  measurement software include, easy way to keep a check on the accuracy of Exede's data meter. In two years, they both show the same usage each month.

Thanks, Steve. The Linksys was on my list of suspects. I'll get a new adapter.

Steve, my problem seems to be with the adapter, not the router (whch is the Exede router.)  Did you mean adapter?  If you mean yo uave an ASUS adapter, what is the model number? I like the software you described.

Many thanks,
David

Just a guess with not much to go on, but if using Windows check the adapter's properties under power management options to determine whether Windows might be powering it off to save power and clear that setting if necessary.

Not the problem. I unchecked the boxes to make sure the adaptr is not powered down to save energy.
