Constant slow speeds.4mbps

I have been slow to complain, making sure that I have followed the Viasat protocol several times. All systems are good in my house but my speeds are extremely slow. It doesn’t matter when I’m using Visat it’s running at approximately- .4 .5 mbps. Yes that is point 4-5 so I’m typically running around 400-500 kbps. It has been this way from the beginning.
Should a tech come to my house to investigate or are these the real speeds everywhere?

Which modem do you have?

There are some known issues with the Viasat Wifi Modem (combination device) when using wireless connections. If you can try a wired connection that could help isolate the problem - an appreciable jump in speed has been noted in some cases (as in getting closer to advertised speeds).

If that's the case, many have simply worked around the problem by going with their own reputable wireless routers.

Browse this forum and you will find that you are not alone with your kilobit speeds.
Some of the Viasat defenders recommend that you learn to work around it or learn to live with it.

Not much if we want to be connected.
However, how bad would it be to live our lives the way we did before 2000?
We all managed just fine back then.
Most Viasat users are country people. This most likely means that we have intentionally chosen a simpler lifestyle.
We could go back to paying our bills using the post office, or getting our news from the newspaper, or calling our friends to communicate with them, or buying dvds to watch movies.

The world was a different place back then, just like it was in the 80's. 70's, etc.
