Worst internet service I have ever had. I have the most expensive plan and still at night I need to pull out my verizon hot spot to access the Internet. Pretty sad. Once my contract is over I am leaving. I live up in the mountains and my verizon hot spots comes in way better every time. I recommend they have their installation technicians make sure you have strong service before they commit you to a long contract. Mine didnt. He just left after hook up. I have never had a good connection. Tried going to the faster most expensive plan and that still doesnt work. They said it was my laptop and not their service. Funny my iPhone 7 (new) still has issues, but NEVER when I am connected to any other wifi. I will never recommending Exede. Cant wait til my contract is up! I just reduced my plan to the lowest one. Will use use my verizon hot spot most of the time now.

I agree, mballegra. I just got used to the very slow service, eating up my 10gb data in 2 days which is probably a lot of BS cause I know how much data i am using on each device.
I have an ATT Mobile hotspot with 10gbs data and it is fast, lasts all month and works great. THEN, I have to use my mobile hotspot from my ATT cell phone because the Exede is such crap. I'm not in my permanent home yet but once I unpack my SMARTTV, it all over for exede. I have never ever had such bad service for so much money! :(

Melitta, Cable service and Satellite service are quite different. Let's see what we can do to help. There are a variety of reasons that can cause slow speeds. Send an email to exedelistens@viasat.com with your account and contact information.

Elise Negrin, according to our service agreement we have a minimum speed they have to give us according to our plan. If they are breaking the service agreement and refuse to let you out of the contract, contact BBB. If my speeds do not improve i will be doing the same. I have pissed away over 600$. My data at the end of the months is never over 15 percent. It takes an hour just to buffer a youtube video. I have been paying 119.99 a month for 5 months for the 25mb down at 120g cap and i have never went over 10mb. So why in gods name am i paying for it?? This is rediculous, i have spoken to several people, and have seen for myself that they have signed up far to many people for there internet service. Most beams are extremely congested.

Here is an excert from the ViaSat Bandwidth Usage Policy   -  FYI -

Q: I understand that you slow my speeds if I use greater than 150 GB of data during my monthly billing period, but why do my speeds vary at times when I haven’t used 150 GB of monthly data?

A: The speed of the internet service may vary due to, among other factors, network or internet congestion, the number of users in a household at a particular time, the caliber of in-home networking connections, computer performance (including the presence of viruses or malware), the limitations of different devices (such as a smartphone versus a desktop computer) and severe weather.

Exede Diana   Stop putting in 'canned replies'  it doesn't help.    I've been a customer since 2012.  It's always been between 12-18 but never like this.   Something is wrong and you just need to fess up and help.  Stop trying to 're-educate' us.

The info is much appreciated.  I think the data management  includes 'throttling down' accounts that 'use too much' even though these accounts ls are not close to these caps of 150.  After all, the minute we get close to cap on the other plans they slow it down drastically to the point of being unusable.  One of the times I called in for slow speeds the service rep gave me 1 Gig of data 'because it was customary' even though I had 70 Gigs left and 9 days to use it.  Instead of excuses they could just refund some money and give some compensation until they get another satellite up.  Or give us work arounds.  Give us some instructions about forwarding ports if that would help us.  My neighbor is doing the same thing with the portable Hot spots, and he's happy with that.  He uses the Hotspot to run a small business and for onlince classes so he needed something reliable.   Exede is bad.  Even my Windows 10 is hanging and timing out when it updates.  The bad thing about Exede-Wildblue is that Wildblue's satellite is old.  Viasat put a new satellite up a few years ago and things were great.  So with the Wildblue satellite deteriorating, and the launch of a new Viasat satellite going up anywhere between June and November, the higher usage customers are basically paying for unusable slow speeds.  My old dialup was better 30 years ago.   And no one is doing anything about it.
