Connecting to Citrix VPN

We recently switched to Exede.  Have had no problems except for one.  I use an accounting program through our CPA called Citrix that runs throught a VPN.   I never had a problem with it using DSL, but now that I have switched to satellite I can't even log on.  I am able to download the program, but it never connects.  The CPA firm has other clients that are able to connect through satellite without any problems.  Does anyone know if there are settings on my modem that I could change that would allow me to log on to this program or have any suggestion to make this work?

That sounds like your router and/or firewall may be blocking the port(s) and/or protocol the program needs. Find out what they are and make sure that is not the case.

Hollye: Some types of VPN don't work very well or at all with satellite. 'SSL'-based VPNs often work OK, so it depends on what you're using. If you have an IT person at your work, you might ask them to look into it.

Citrix servers do work with exede but they are painfully slow. As Bev said it is likely a port issue with your router if you cannot connect at all. Once you are in though you will probably want to slit your own throat waiting for screen updates.
