I have the 25 G plan and I check my usage about every other day.  And because i realize the amount of data it takes to do certain things i use constraint.  Definitely no movies, streaming music etc, this is all basically out.

I have been teaching on the internet for years and it is vital that i don't run out of data, thus the 25G plan, come on EX, let's have more data for the same cost.

Anyway, I also have a Verizon cell phone 10G data plan.  I set up a personal hot spot using my iphone, WEP security and insure I use that data each month as well.

Check with your carrier because you can probably get data cheaper than thru Excede (i hate their spelling).

So in essence i have 35 G and the speed is comparable and it offers a nice cushion.

Don't forget make max use of the Free zone, midnight at the oasis.

If you are trying to use youtube, movies, streaming music, you have to change your habits, band with limitations cause you to curtail those operations except for occasionally doing this a few times a month, naturally short you tubes, but do all your software updates after midnight.

Check in to using your cellular data, you can set it up very easy using your network sharing center and creating a new broadband connection.  Then you can select which connection you want to use before going on the internet, and actually change from one to the other while on the internet.

Use all of what you have, but monitor your use.

Good luck.

Yeah, great Idea IF you get cell service at home. I have unlimited cellular data but, NO SERVICE at home. If I did, I'd drop Exede. Some of us have no choice and can't use cellular data at home.

I don't have a cell phone. My brother tells people I am the only person in Texas without a cellphone. What I DO pay for is 10BG from VIASTAT. After no problem for over two years, I started getting memos, I was running out of data. I had made no changes, did not stream movies or music. I was given a list of items that might be devouring my data. I checked them all, nothing out of line, The next month and every month since, I run out of data LONG before the end of the billing period. After repeatedly complaining, a VIASAT executive CALLED me and looking at my account he could see where my data was incorrectly determined. He gave  me 5 GB and I never heard from him again. With no REAL meter to SEE my data usage, I have to rely on the Mickey Mouse data meter provided. I am not happy.

That is the only reason I have Verizon, they have the best coverage and the only coverage that gives me full service at my home in the boon docks.  But if you have no cell service at home then you are kind of screwed and at the total mercy of Sat internet, which is bar far the slowest, highest priced, bandwidth limited, atmospherically limited of any service in the hemisphere.  I am hoping that some new technology, becomes available.

Until then you can only hope a new cellular tower gets erected, not too close to your home tho, that can give you another option.
