Trouble porting old phone number

I signed up for exede voice in April. My old number was supposed to be ported over on April 4th. When this did not happen i contacted the Customer Service line. They took my information again and said it would be ported over on April 29th. i called back prior to April 29th and was told they had no record of the request. it is Now May 3rd and my number has still not been ported over. While typing this is am on hold with Customer Service waiting to talk to a representative and have been on hold for at least 15 minutes. CAN SOMEONE AT EXEDE PLEASE HELP. I was told not to cancel my old service because they might reassign my number. i have now been paying for a telephone line for more than a month that i don't use.

Call your old provider, tell them of the request as well. Since it was not recorded earlier, but I assume was on the 29th, it can take a couple of weeks to port a number. Get a date from Exede, and make sure it's in the works weekly - just for your peace of mind.
