Cannot browse a website

I have a problem with one single website.

For about 8 months I could access a page or two then would get an error message saying the server unexpectedly dropped the connection while trying to change to a different page. Now I cannot access this website at all, same error message. This is the only website I have any problem with.

I have the same problem while using my laptop, iPhone or iPad using my Exede service. I CAN access the website using other internet sources.

Yes, I have cleared cache and cookies!

Help would be appreciated

Which web site? Others may be able to confirm if it is accessible.

If you tell me that you have no problem with the website that does not help me. In fact that is what ExedeDiana told me. Here it is: startingstrength.com

I've got a website I go to that's not been working right with Exede for way over a year, maybe two (not the one you're trying to use). For a while I could get to it but after a page or three, it went to website not found and sometime later I could do this again.. Then for a couple months or more it was just website not found. Now it's back to just being able to go to a few pages then gone for a while. It works fine on all my computers and tablet if they are tethered from ATT or TMobile cell phones but not on the same one's using Exede.

No solution was ever found so I wouldn't hold your breath.

Actually I asked so I could run a diagnostic tool against the site. Unfortunately it found nothing.

Typically these are DNS related issues. However, you might want to determine and share what Exede spot beam you're on using:

While I have no problems accessing it, others on your beam or even identically color coded beams might be unable to access it also and would narrow the problem domain down for Exede.

My beam would be around the intersection of 73 and 82, Western Colorado.

Hello Charles, I was able to pull it up with both a DSL and an Exede connection. Is it a particular part of the site or just the main page? You could try calling in and talking to our Tier 2 tech support team at 855-463-9333 and they can do some advanced troubleshooting/captures to see why you could not access it. I would also suggest another browser but it seems that you wouldn't have the issues in Safari with iPhone/iPad so there's probably something bigger going on with your connection preventing it and our team can assist you with it.

I called. Now I know why it is called Tier 2. She reset my modem twice. That did not work and she had no other ideas.

David is right I guess

Oh boy that's not at all how that should have went. If you want to try again during business hours, this will need to get escalated to our Network Operations Center (NOC) and like the post below it may require going through a few channels. Unfortunately these single page website problems get quite annoying on both ends especially if it's not a widespread issue affecting all connections. I'm sorry the call didn't get anywhere.

I had a website page that I had issues with for a while with Exede..  Ended up going through several tech and went up the chain.  Finally came up with the fact that their compression software was breaking the script on the website I was having a issue with.  They added that website to the exempt section of their compression tool and that solved the issue.

That is something only exede tech can do.

I just tried that website and I can get a couple of pages and then it says "the connection was reset".  I can't load anymore pages.  This is the only website I have seen this happen to since I got Excede a month ago.  Very interesting.

I was able to finally get that web site to fail with a connection reset yesterday and ran some diagnostics (but didn't have time to analyze them until now). Although sporadic, it seems to reliably fail for me whenever accessing the Resources tab and the entire site becomes inaccessible after that (just now reproduced that sequence leading to failure) . What bourgm suggests above  is entirely possible with Exede's Accelenet technology and probably should not be ruled out.

However, the trace route utility suggests an issue on the last hop of the route between a Cogent server ( ip address 38.88.191.46) and server1.oop-ed.com (98.158.182.27). startingstrength.com is virtually hosted on server1.oop-ed.com along with a few other sites (i.e. multiple sites share the same ip address - a possible virtual hosting configuration issue on that server). I'd contact the Starting Strength webmaster who appears to also be the registrant for the server domain  (the email address is at the bottom of the page if you can get there - i'd post the email address but alas can no longer get there and probably best to not do so anyway).

It does appear that going to one of the other sites virtually hosted there clears the error condition (aasgaardcompany.com, blackirongym.com, blackirongym.net, etc.)
