Cancellation before contract ends

I have had Exede for 11 months, but I want to cancel it for a different ISP. However, I have a 24-month contract, so I wanted to know how much it would cost for me to cancel now. I have been very satisfied with this service, but I have found a DSL ISP I would like to switch to.

My sudjestion for what its worth would be to find out if the DSL service has any kind of term contract (most likely not but i would check first). If not I would get the DSL service installed and working and test it for a week or two to see if it works for your internet usage.  Then if everything seams to be working good and you are happy with the speed and everything then I would call and get your exede service canceled.  I would not put the cart before the horse so to speak though.

I've had excede for a year now as well. I'm dissatisfied with excede. I was assured by the sales rep that excede was much better than my other satellite service and that I'd be very happy with excede...definitely not the case. I feel I was lied to. During peak user times, I feel like I'm on dialup...it's terrible.
