can using smartphone/table affect usage

I have been having data issues lately (3 months) and I do have a smartphone and a tablet, what does that have anything to do with wildblue/exede. I have wifi turned off both and also my desktop. I  was told about other wireless devices when I complained about running out of data every month. They are not connected in anyway to my satellite service, so how can that affect my usage. I have had a smartphone for a few years now and I have also have wildblue for many years and I don't ever run out until now. I bought my tablet a couple months ago and do use it at home to get online sometimes, in parts of the house I can get service by opening a window, simply because I am trying to conserve my satellite data which I still run out anyway.  The first time I ran out data I had 2 weeks left before it recycled and that was a month before I bought the tablet so I can't see how my wireless devices could be the problem. I also have the original equipment from when I first got my wildblue along time ago

Hi Caroline. Send us an email to exedelistens@viasat.com and we can look at your usage. Phones and other devices will use data only if it's connected to your wifi. If they connect with 3G or 4G, that'll be all on the network. Other factors such as updates are often a suspect in data drain.
