I am on Unlimited 25. I understand the caps. I do not like it but I get it. I would pay 50% more for higher caps. Is there a plan for me?

Hi John

The different tiers have different inflection points. With Unlimited Gold or if in your area Platinum will have the highest levels

When I go into my account and look at the options Gold and Platinium are not options. I live in south / central California. Are Gold and Platinum only available in some areas?

Also what I care about is the caps not the raw speed. The speed before I hit the cap is acceptable.

Correct. Gold and Platinum plans are only available in select areas of the country, specifically where Viasat-2 high density spit beams cover.

Perhaps look into a Viasat business plan. That would get you more data I would think.

are there Liberty plans? In areas without Unlimited we do have Liberty. Business might be an option too

From what I can tell a Liberty plan would be a downgrade & the Business plans look unreasonably more expensive to get a cap over 150. I said I would pay maybe 50% more but the 200 GB plan biz costs $400?!?!?!?

Whatever. :-(

Ah ok. Well plans routinely change so I'd check again in a month or two to see what's being offered. We don't do any fanfare or alerts or anything so that's really the best way to see if anything new comes up

Most people who have given VIASAT more money recently have come away very upset. Do your research.

You are willing to pay more, but not that much more? History has shown as the GB's go up, the money goes up. Yes, it is excessive, but keep in mind they don't want people using that much to begin with. If they do, they will charge a premium for the privilege.

Seems like the service works pretty well until I get over 100GB. I know the cap should start at 150 but seems like I see it sooner.

So with no other choices why not have 2 accounts? Double cost of a Silver 25 is about 1/2 of the business accounts that I was looking at. I pay $120 a month now and it sucks 1/2 the time.

Do I need two dishes or just 2 modems? If I am willing to pay double why not? Use one for 2 weeks and then the other for 2 weeks. I would have 75GB per week to burn.

Note to ViaSat. Just give me a $160 or $175 plan where the caps hit at 200GB. Please charge more and give me a better product.

Your not seeing it sooner, vsat has crippled all 150gig plans your should have got both a letter and email telling you things will suck even before you use 150gig. Viasat wants you to change to one of the other lessor plans for service like you use to have.

Translating what Oliver says, "Keep your plan, buying more data from VIASAT will not get you more priority data."
