I'm interested in getting Exede internet but can't find the option to buy the equipment outright. All I find is leasing options. Could someone give me a definitive answer if it's possible to buy the equipment required for Exede satellite internet and how much it would be to purchase it?
See item C in http://www.exede.com/documents/master/customer-agreement.pdf
New Internet Service customers must lease the equipment provided by ViaSat (“Equipment”) in order to receive the Internet Service. Only a ViaSat authorized installer may install the Equipment at your residence. Some NRTC member organizations (e.g. mine) as wholesalers allow and/or require purchasing the equipment. however your first line of support will be NRTC. My upgrade to Exede from Wildblue over 2-1/2 years ago cost $249 covering install and equipment. At the same time, you may not have access to other ViaSat offerings - e.g. although I'd be interested in Exede Voice and ViaSat won't offer it, it's not available through my NRTC member organization. In the past I wasn't eligible to change to the Evolution plan nor did I see any of the other promos offerred directly by ViaSat.
