Can anyone explain why my Liberty Pass just stops working for weeks on end??

So we switched to the Liberty 12 a few months back and it worked great for a few weeks then a storm came through and our service went out which is understandable but it stayed off for 3 months. When we get our priority data back it worked fine but when our Liberty Pass was supposed to kick on it never did. At best our speeds were 400kbps on Liberty Pass way bellow the 1-5mbps they advertised. Then it started working again a few weeks ago I was getting about 1-1.5mbps even during peak hours then another front of heaving rain came in and the service is gone once again. Now my Liberty Pass speeds are 98kbps. It took 20 minutes to load this page. I've called tech support multiply times they give me a free gig to test the tech and it works properly, but when that gig is gone the Liberty Pass just won't work. I just want like 1-1.5mbps during Liberty Pass that's it I don't need the 5 just the minimum.Heck I don't even get my full 12mbps when I have priority data just about 8mbps and that's fine. The reason we switched is because of the 1-5mbps Liberty Pass but we're only getting 10% of the minimum speed and I can't justify paying for speeds that never get any where close to advertised.

For anyone who cares at 12:08 am here in Ohio my speed test had me at 47kbps that's slower than dial up.

It sounds like the storm moved your dish. Possible? Sign up for easy care if not already and contact whoever you ordered service from to re-align the dish.

I thought that too at first but like I said it works fine when I have priority data. If the dish were messed up it wouldn't work at all. The tech I talked to the first time said the dish was aligned fine.

I missed that point. Yes a misaligned dish would be slow always.

Not really. Depending on what beam in Ohio he is on, Liberty Pass is worthless. 1 to 1.5MB???? Please. During primetime I get around 500 - 600kbps on PRIORITY data. Liberty Pass isn't going to deliver more.

Viasat states their commitment to me as follows. "Liberty Pass lets you enjoy 1-5 Mbps download speeds (morning/daytime) after Priority Data is used." They forgot to include the weasel words of "... up to 1-5 Mbps..." So do we have a case for breach of contract?

Don't they insert the words "typically"? Otherwise, there you go. Have at it!

Typically they insert the word "typically". But this time they forgot.
The fly in the ointment is the refrain "be careful what you ask for or you might get it."
Even if they admitted breach of contract, then what? There are no suitable alternatives to switch to.
Which seems to indicate that there is no real reason to complain except to feel better and occupy time on a slow Saturday.

IDK. Hughesnets new satellite has been plugging away. While not as revolutionary as Viasat-2, I don't think it has issues.

Today it keeps fluctuating it was going from 100kbps to 2.1mbps. I could run the same test four times in 2 minutes and get 4 very different speed results. I set an alarm for 3:30am and got up and the speeds were still 120kbps. I really don't want to pay $95 for them to come out tell the tech is fine, not fix my problem and leave. You know what sucks all my neighbors have DSL but they over sold the service and aren't taking new customers.
