I think it should've stayed at $4.99/GB. That is much easier to handle than $9.99. I was going to buy another gig, until I saw that it went back up. Can't wait for Midwest to come out by me.... Then I won't have to worry about data usage anymore.....

I am not sure why exede puts limits on us exfinty has a whole lot more customer' than exede has they don't limit people. This is the first time in a long time I went over on gb's so they cut me down.As soon as I find someone else I will leave exede I have been a customers a long time but they don't care about us only their pocket books.

Unlike the cable internet providers, Viasat's Exede is limited by the fixed capacity of the satellite at the time it was launched. The capacity can only be increased with a new satellite launch - efforts are under way to launch another satellite (ViaSat-2 late next year at the earliest) and plans are already being made to launch ViaSat-3 after that.

First I've heard of any $4.99 buy more program - perhaps a promo for those new as they become acquainted with satellite internet limitations? I dunno...

Old Labs, I have never heard of the $4.99 per gig buy more program either. It has always been $9.99. There may well have been some new  customer promotions for limited times at the lower price.

Hello Radbus, you certainly have the option to purchase more GB’s if needed; you can use your username and password to log into MyExede Customer Portal. Exede has always offered the “Buy More” option at $9.99/GB. I would be more than happy to review your account details and check your usage categories. Once we figure out where your data is being consumed, we can find ways to help you enjoy the activities you love.  Please send us an email to with your account and contact information. Thank you
