First exceed takes from my checking account twice. OK, got that fixed, sort of. Then they take out without my consent another $4.56 for a One time charge for Annual property Tax Recovery Fee, whatever that is as it was not on my first 3 invoices. My last bill was due on 4/24/15, which I paid online on the morning of the 24th, and got an email saying that I owed that amount again. OK, so I give them the benefit of the doubt and waited until today, the 25th to recheck it. All I could say was WTH? I paid my bill/invoice for the amount listed on the invoice and now it says that I owe $3.56. Why are they showing me an invoice with an amount on it, and I pay it and they state that I still owe? This is beyond ridiculous and is unacceptable. Why are my invoices showing different amounts? What is this Annual Property Tax Recovery Fee? Why can't Excede have an invoice for me with the right amount on it? Do the people in billing know how to do common basic math?

I signed up for exceed and gave them a prepaid credit card for the amount. Then they told us we couldn't do it that way. So I paid online with check, only to be screwed over and money taken out twice. I choose not to have a credit card, and even if I did I would not want them to auto take from my account. If you do, that is fine, I do not want my money taken out of my account without me hitting the submit button for my payment. If this keeps up I can drop exceed quicker than I can drop a bad habit. Excede is not the only game in town and I do not give them permission to access my checking account without my say so.
That's part of the agreement that you sign when you sign up for the service is that your bill is auto paid. Now if you talk to one of the Reps here they might be able to do something for you. But when it comes to most providers they want the ability to auto charge your account. There again one of the moderators might be able to work with you and get it changed to where they send you a bill every month I don't know what there options are.
Yes Knight Rider, you are correct. I did sign the agreement and I should have read the agreement more closely. I am mad at myself for that mistake. However, I failed to realize that when we called to be hooked up and to find out about the service, that Excede employees would actually lie to get an account. We told them we wanted paper billing and they told us that would be OK. All I can say to that is BS, it didn't happen and when we called when we received our first invoice they told us no. Excede is like a spider web being woven as time goes on, and as such, it is ever changing.
Hi Bill, sorry to hear about the previous billing issues I hope we were able to get that resolved for you. On your invoice recent invoice, that charge you notice would be our Annual Property Tax Fee which all of our customers receive one time yearly. The annual one time charge is a fee to cover the associated costs of ViaSat paying for property taxes on the equipment installed in your home (modem, tria, antennae). It has been 3 weeks and I have not heard from anyone. I am also having a problem this month with my data usage and need help with it.

Could one of the wonderful moderators here explain why Exede started collecting taxes just this year? I have gone back through all my bills and this is the first time Ive seen this charge in 3 years of service. Others have said the same and would probably like to know as well. It isnt that big a deal except it was a change in our billing charges and therefore a change to our contractual agreement which should have been announced to folks ahead of time.
Hello Brian, to answer your question, we have always had our property tax implemented. The reason you could possibly be seeing this charge for the first time would possibly be because of the tax code within your area. The best path for you to take for more information would be to contact your local municipal office. The only information we could provide you is the reason why we charge the One Time Charge For Annual Property tax which would be to cover the associated costs of ViaSat paying for property taxes on the equipment installed in your home. Just to make sure I understand, you are saying that my locality for the firs time this year required Exede to pay taxes that perhaps it did not previously require? I will check with the county to see if that is indeed the case. Can Exede provide me with the bill or a path to obtain the bill from the county just so I can see it. Since I am having to pay the tax, even though it is small, it would seem then that I can deduct this as a personal property tax I had to pay, but I will likely need a bill for it.
Brian, we would only be able to provide you with a copy of our bill, not one specifically from the county. It is all based on your tax jurisdiction, which we get from your address. Customer service-I have been on the phone now for over an hour trying to get my excede running and you said my card would not go thru, but I called the bank and they said no request has been made this month from you guys-the money is there on the account ending in 5688-please get my internet working immediately-I am sitting here with the phone to my ear and dead silence so I will hang up-Please straighten this out immediately and get my computer back up!
Send them an email to exedelistens@viasat,com with your exede account number or a phone number tied to the account and explain whats going on with your account they can take a look from their said and see whats going on and get you fixed.
