I'm going to cancel my service with Viasat because my contract is up and I'm tired of the slow speeds and misinformation. My new provider cant get here until April the 3rd. How much will I be charged per day until I get my new service hooked up? Thanks!

RE: let you all know how it goes
???
FWIW - When it takes awhile for a site with advertiser content to load its pics/etc., this is not unusual when these pics/etc must be loaded from a given site or other locations.
When an ad blocker, like Adblock Plus is used, it has to be configured to eliminate Acceptable Ads. This can be over-ridden, if a site does not allow access unless a viewer "eats" their ads.
Google's Chrome browser defaults to "Acceptable Ads," but I noticed it took awhile for those pics/etc to come up. Whereas in Waterfox, with Adblock engaged, this was not an issue. Apparently, Viasat does not bundle these ads, at least on sites I tested, so, your browser must fetch each element (pics, etc) that Viasat's equipment did not deliver. It's a slow process, due to latency.

I hope it works out for you though. In all seriousness, please come back and let us know how things work out with Hughesnet. They send me advertisements all the time and I just throw them in the trash.

I wouldn't pay for another month, just pull the plug and smell the flowers, time with the family, do some other work or things around the house and start fresh, otherwise you will be billed for an additional month, also make sure you return the modem, tria whatever else is required.
Use the free zone for updates and downloading movies, shows etc.
Good luck.

Of course, you might get lucky and have good coverage with Hughesnet. I wouldn't get too excited about their "no hard data caps" policy though. Viasat has the same thing and doesn't limit you usage during the free zone.
I would never be able to use 300 gb of data in a month on any Hughesnet plan. I've done it before on Viasat and I'm on a Liberty 12 plan.

If your dish is a pinch out of alignment, your speeds will suffer.
Needless to say, your setup could be the issue also. Several years ago, I bought a router with QOS enabled, my speeds went to pot.
If you have a SB2 modem, I would hook direct to a desktop computer. If you have older equipment, this too could be an issue...even Ethernet cards shoot craaps.
Yes, primetime speeds should drop, but at other times, your speeds should be decent.
Make sure the issue is not on your side, before jumping

If there is an issue with Hughes, you may want to consider this forum
I have no idea about your signal stats, etc., but its been mentioned here that Viasat's SB2+ WiFi modem has/had some issues. But, they say using your own WiFi router could fix this issue..
Good Luck
