Any one you get, if you use the remote viewing feature, will use bandwidth, same as streaming video in whatever resolution the cameras use. I don't have remote viewing ones for that reason. I do have security cameras for my back gate and wolfdog enclosure but, those are the old fashioned, wired to a video monitor type, not wireless that need to use my router.

Not unless you own wolfdogs (wolf/domestic dog hybrids). LOL I happen to have 3 of them and, if they are legal to have in your state at all, they may require special enclosures and/or permits to own. Never mind that my 3 boys are family and live in the house, the enclosure is for when they need to go out or, I am going to be away form home for errands or whatever - they tend to eat walls, sofas, mattresses and carpets if I leave them in the house alone.

Well Alex, you need at least 1/2 an acre of cleared land, enough 6 ft tall fencing with no larger than a 2 inch hole in it to go all the way around the land TWICE and, enough wire to run a 3 strand electric fence inside that. You need the power box for the electric fence, 2 gates (inner and outer.)

Of course, you could just come visit mine - save yourself the expense and work of building your own - or build it and let me give you a wolfdog. :P

I think Silver (that's his name) would be great, he looks like a pure timber wolf and weight 125 lbs. - imaging taking him to work on Pet day. :)

i'm certainly no expert but I remember looking into this when I first got exede 3 years ago and was told there were some serious issues with using remote viewing security cameras besides chewing up your data package, it had to do with the signal delay (latency)  because exede is obviously a satellite based system. maybe now they have a camera system that overcomes that somehow, but the data issue was enuf to stop me from further investigation

Thank you.  I am going to cancel my service hook up for tomorrow, since that was the only reason I was getting it.  Just have a bad feeling I wouldn't be happy.  I appreciate your input!

Has anyone considered getting the Arlo Pro Security Camera? It's quite interesting if it works with Exede since it's one of the highest rated wireless cameras on the market.
