Beam / Modem registration

Hoping to get some guidance. I have exede freedom. I just moved to a new spot beam. Was at 359 now at 360.
I have all the newest hardware modem, tria, etc (brand new install done last month).
In my new location I hit the modems page so I can enter the key for the new 360 spot beam, I then pointed the dish getting a whopping 9.5 - 10.0 SNR! The modem goes through all its paces once it gets shortly past "entering network" then "dhcp" it drops and starts over. Is this because my exede account is hard coded to beam 359, therefore says hey "deny"? If so and if I called exede would they adjust the beam on my account for me? Thought about factory resetting my modem but didn't think that would help.

Also curious about the beam: left the dish pointed in the same place I was getting 10SNR using the key for beam 360, but instead used the key for my old beam 359 this time and I get 0 SNR why is that?

Thanks! !

Normally if the modem gets past "Entering network" and fails at "DHCP" it means it can't connect to your router, or computer if no router is in the loop. If it actually fails at "Entering network" it means it can't communicate with your beam's ground station or the ground station does not recognize your modem.

How did you get an installers key? Most likely your modem has not been properly activated.

Each beam has a different network key. You must also have an installer's  password. Technicians are strictly prohibited from giving out their password and will lose their certification if they do. Exede and the FCC both require that only certified technicians can install and provision satellite internet.

I’m having the exact same problem, crazy that this post is two years old. Was there any resolution to this?

Hello Chris, was your modem installed by one of our technicians? It needs to be pointed and peaked to work properly.
