My AVG Free anti-virus software 2 days ago kept failing on a simple update....ALL day long, it recycled the update, failing each time, and, in the process, ATE up 70% of my monthly Exede allowance..I knew when out of the blue came the "warning" email...since my bill was only 6 days in, I panicked, thinking it was a router hacker, so, I changed my passkey. I tried uninstalling all 3 AVG sites(AVG, AVG GURU, and AVG TOOLBAR), but, the trojan in my machine would NOT let  me do this. Thank Goodness for CC Cleaner's TOOL KIT, it allowed me to uninstall all AVG software. This is being posted so YOU don't have to go through what I did..GET RID OF AVG!!! And use 360 TOTAL SECURITY instead,,,360 found a malware bug in my system AVG didn't prevent or see, or get out, and, is a fast, easy-to-use system that gets 5 huge stars by this computer geek.

Calvin I hate to say this but so many of the free antivirus software just aren't that good. So you do have to be careful.

AVG did it's job for years for me...something went haywire with my computer, and, a malware bug that prevented the update, AND windows removal/unistall...if not for CC cleaner, and uninstall, it would have kept on eating exede data.
The thing I love about the new 360 Total Security is it's low profile, low usage(it doesn't keep thousands of virus libraries on site, thus, in my computer)...I'm very impressed with 360! When I buy my new system, I will be paying for top-notch real-time protection...for this old windows vista/dell system, it's like the energizer bunny..just keeps going, and going...probably keep it until MS stops vista support!

The free antivirus software was really good for a long time but then they started getting sloppy and not doing the job. Probably had something to do with money.  Glad you found a good antivirus program. To bad people out there doing the virus and malware, etc.
