It's possible.  Try testmy.net and a 6 to 12 MB file.  See what your results are then.  Incidently, just ran my own test.  Fast.com registered 1.6Mbps.  Testmy.net right after registered 5.2.

What plan are you on?  What beam are you on?  Is the "video data saver" turned on or off?

More detail is needed to help understand what may be going on.

It's taken me over an hour to download a 183mb update. Just before my original post it took 15 minute to download the Netflix app on my phone

With the introduction of unlimited plans and the video data extender option, the fast.com speed test is now only a measure of how content delivered from Netflix will perform. On Liberty Plans you don't have to turn on the video data extender - by default it was turned on for you and you need to turn it off if you don't want it - if applicable it's on your customer portal and can be toggled on/off.

As noted, testmy.net is generally considered a more accurate speed test for satellite internet subscribers - for increased accuracy it's always been suggested that a manual download size of greater that 12MB be selected at:

http://testmy.net/download

Another practical reason for that is that TestMy will automatically retest with large file sizes until a 7 second download can be attained - I've seen it adjust up to 200MB unless you manually select a file size of 13MB - needless to say 200 MB is simply a wasted of bandwidth and data on limited plans.

Regardless, all speed tests are not alike and often geared towards different scenarios. I find TestMy to be most accurate in terms of what most consider to be "speed" - for any speed test it's important to know what it's measuring and how.

With regard to beam, each Exede subscriber is assigned to one of 72 different spot beams (transpopnders) depending on their physical location (each beam has its own footprint). The following link allows you determine what beam you're assigned to. At the same time, it identifies what gateway you're using. There's on additiional ViaSat/Exede hop involved after/before getting to/from the internet sometimes called a core node. Knowing all of these can sometimes be useful in isolating problems.

Thanks for the backup... apparently my Rx SNR is too low, cable attenuation is too high, or more likely it's that I'm suffering from brain fade...

I just find it ridiculous that I pay you guys almost $80 every month for some thing I can only use between 5am and 5pm I also work 7-4 week days so when I get home it's unusable on the weekends there's absolutely no point in trying. It literally just took me 20 minutes to watch a 6:30 minute video on YouTube

Looked at your 7:10 PM test details on testmy.net - you appear to have used an iPhone and a download test size of 256 KB. With that small of a test file size the results aren't even going to be close to accurate or even meaningful - you need to use a larger test size (greater than 12 MB) to overcome the inherent latency of satellite connections. Take a look at the TestMy speed test log histories for ViaSat and nearly every test using such a small test file size yields dismal results (mobile devices also show a tendency towards lower results).

However, all of your screen captures show you're also using a relatively weak WiFI connection which may also be contributing to your problem.

If possible utilize a wired connection for your speed test(s) as well as an appropriate test file size. If that yields better results, consider looking at your router's WiFi as a potential cause. Many here have found the Exede WiFi modem/router to be substandard in terms of WiFi connectivity and have overcome the issue by attaching reputable and  better performing WiFi routers to their Exede equipment while disabling the Exede WiFi functionality. A one size fits all modem, router, voice adapter combination usually leaves much to be desired and has only one significant advantage - a smaller desktop footprint and less clutter; aesthetics and convenience rarely impact performance . Render unto the modem things that are the modem's, render unto the router things that are the router's...

I'll assume for now you haven't exceeded your priority data allotment and are not on Liberty Pass (throttled and de-prioritized) - however, if on Liberty Pass those results may be the norm for your specific spot beam during peak usage periods - they are on mine during peak hours once I hit Liberty Pass, but I have the luxury of shift my usage to non-primetime hours.

P.S. You aren't paying us guys anything - we're fellow subscribers, with the exception of Exede Diana. To speak to the guys your paying, you'll need to go through customer support channels or send a message to exedelistens...

My wifi signal in each picture is full and my Xbox one that is connected directly to the modem and less than 3 feet away can barely load up the home Xbox live page can barely play any thing on YouTube and my Netflix is a waste of money because it buffers every other minute. This internet is garbage I don't understand why you guys are trying to defend it.

Not trying to defend it - simply trying to give you some advice on how to trouble shoot. If you don't want assistance from your fellow subscribers do as I said... go through the direct customer support channel or exedelistens - appears you don't know what the intent of this community really is and that you'd prefer to simply argue with your fellow subscribers.

Good luck with the direct support route - you'll need it. We'll all simply leave you alone now.

My dish looks like it's pointed at the bottom of the hill behind my house and I had these guys come out and check it out they stood on my porch about 15 feet away from it talked to me for a minute and said it looks fine and left

Which guys? You just can't look at a dish and see if it is pointed right. It has to be peaked by a certified installer.

If you found the service unacceptable contact Exede Diana on here and give her the particulars about your service call. Feedback is important so a company can improve their service level and correct any problems that need addressed.
