Has anyone else been having these issues as described: https://www.wildblueworld.com/forum/showthread.php?9493-Steam-Downloads-while-not-Dapped-and-in-LNFZ...

I thought the more people that speak up, the faster they will fix it.

File downloading is about 60-110 KB/sec , while the surfing speeds are well over (and about normal mostly).

Once 2 AMish hits, the file downloads catch up to the actual speeds you are getting.  And it's not just Steam, but sometimes a combination of the Browser and Steam downloading together (ie: When I was catching up on podcasts the MP3s were 13 KB/sec, and Steam went down about 13 KB/sec).

I keep seeing people on this forum name Steam as a site where download problems are occurring.  This isn't the only site mentioned, but lately it is mentioned all the time, so I just did a google search as follows: "problems downloading files from Steam".  what comes up is a slew of links about problems having to do with the site (Steam) and the hardware being used to download. So far I didn't find anything suggesting that Exede or any other ISP's are at fault.  I do wonder no one is contacting Steam to try to find out what is wrong.  Maybe they have some answers.
I understand that you are saying you are seeing this problem during LNFZ, where there is already a problem with slowed speeds due to congestion on Exede.  But it suddenly dawned on me that Steam may also be having problems delivering to customers due to congestion--this is an extremely popular site and I am sure its customer base can only be growing.  I can only imagine what kind of traffic they may be dealing with.
Realistically, I am not sure this is a "fixable" problem in the short term, esp if "congestion" is to blame.  Esp if it is so much worse during LNFZ, since I think even DAP'd exede customers get normal speeds back during LNFZ?

That'd only make sense if it wasn't for every country , and every mirror in that country, as well as other downloads during that time equaling the same sum.

As noted I tried changing Steam Dallas to Houston, Denver, then to Vancouver, CA , then to MX, then to Puru, then to.. then to.. then to..

Hi Name141, thank you for sending us your information. We greatly appreciate your patience as we research this speed issue with our engineers. They are trying to find a link with the slow speeds during the LNFZ associated with downloads. This can possibly take some time to locate the error here.  I will be sure let you know as soon as we have some answers.

And accelenet servers are something that belong to exede and that Exede uses as part of its network? I just looked up accelenet since I keep hearing that term, and it looks like this is proprietary to Exede?  And do other ISP's have their own version of this kind of technology?
here's what I am reading/trying to understand:

(I figure the more I can learn about what goes on, the better.)

Haha I like people that do their research as I do :)

Amd yes they are part of exedes backbone, they are what make Exede seam fast even though you have the high latency.

Also yes, HughesNet has a similar technology, thou what they call it excapes me at the moment.

I don't think I emailed or posted this before, but when I swapped from 10 to 15 plan, I went from the first orange sat to the second Green Sat.. of course I've seen them change with nothing changed on our end.. so.. *shrug*. Or was it the 3rd sat that was orange.. ehh.. I dunno, either way it swapped from Orange to the 2nd green one.

My modem said there was no receive signal about a week ago and then when it came back up I was on orange, then it happened again last night and now I'm showing purple.  I don't know if they are making changes in the background or something.  As far as the icons I think Steve or someone said it has to to with the polarization of the signal, which my be true and I think it also has to do with what MACD channel you are on.  I know there are 8 channels that go to different servers and the way your modem connects is just which ever one is next in line.  By that I mean if the last modem to come online connected in to channel 2 the next would then connect to channel 3.  Now the NOC can manually move you around if they see one if getting congested and another in hardly being used at that time.  So I'm guessing that is the case but I would have to talk to Lindsey or Diana and have them pull my account to see which channel I was in and which one I am in now.
