Anyone else experiencing extremely low speeds as soon as you exceed your data usage? I just recently joined as a silver plan, exceeded my 60 gb and went to .11mbs

I am experiencing low speeds under my priority data. If that is the case, I am sure those over their priority data on certain beams will experience even slower speeds.

Why are so many people here so surprised about the speed reducing after you use up your priority allocated data??? What did you expect to happen???

Most reasonable people expect that speeds be lowered in 1-3 Mbps range. Less than that indicates oversold beams and lack of proper resource management. You know, usable service. Pulling your hair and throwing devices is a sign that you’re not getting what you expect too.

I expected my speed to drop a little, maybe to the next level plan. But speed dropped to .11mbs is outrageous. That basically cut me off from the internet. Our installer told us his excede rep. told him not to worry about speed drops, the client will hardly notice a difference.

Honestly, I hate to be that person, but it is usable after exceeding your unlimited cap. It is on my beam at least. Pages often load HTML only or just timeout while trying to load. I think people expect for it to still be usable for basis browsing, but in many cases, it cannot even be used for that.

They lie about how often, and the severity... that's why. They also lie about it being related to traffic and congestion on the beam.

Using common sense I assume it's because it becomes so slow that its unusable and they reasonable thought that it would still be of some reasonable speed. On the few times I've went over my 150gb the speed was much slower than what I had previously come to expect from Liberty pass. At this point I can also reasonably assume that they were lied to by customer service who are getting a notoriety for misrepresenting this service.

Except I am way under my priority data level and speeds have been dismal tonight. But then again, if mine are this bad, I can only imagine how bad it is for people with "unlimited" plans that have exceeded their priority data.

Speeds are good on priority data. Once I am on Liberty Pass speeds slow down to around .10-.30 download (from 5 p.m. - 11 p.m.).

Here's an idea, don't use up your priority data. When I get close I cut back on my usage. It is slow enough during prime time while still on priority, I can imagine how slow it would get if I used it up.

Viasat is a predatory company. If you actually read their contract, you are obligated to pay for 24 months of service even if they basically provide you with NOTHING. The contract binds you, but it doesn't bind them to provide any *MINIMUM FUNCTIONAL SERVICE*. They claim their practices are an effort to "share" the bandwidth with customers, but this is a baldfaced lie. For some reason you can still buy more "priority" data even though they claim my speed is being slowed due to "congestion"... how is there more "priority data" to sell if the "congestion" is so terrible. It's lies for money, Y'all. "All you can eat" doesn't mean shit if you have to suck it through a coffee stirring staw... this is literally the Viasat version of "unlimited". I regularly get less than .50 mbps after my 150g prio data is done. I too was told sweet lies on the phone... I even tried to buy the top tier service because I didn't want to be capped, the representative told me that almost no one uses up their data and I wouldn't need more than the silver plan. Holy shit! How can it be legal to lie like that? Answer? It's in the last paragraph. That legalese basically means, "we can lie, you still have to pay... to **** ! Sucker!". Predatory Company!
