Go to settings, at the top it ask if you want import bookmarks and settings and gives a list of browsers to import from. Sparrow wasn't listed, but I imported from Chrome because it is setup same as Sparrow was.

Mine were migrated automatically when I upgraded, you might try a reinstall if James's suggestion doesn't work.

At the top of the web page, the 3 little dots, click that, see bookmarks, rest your mouse on bookmarks, over to the right another window opens, click show bookmarks

Dan - Your Sparrow bookmarks, passwords, and other profile information should automatically be imported into Viasat Browser.  Please send an email to browser@viasat.com if that is not happening for you.  Thanks!

FWIW, most of it did for me. Some settings were lost but no big deal.

At first I too thought, I'd lost the bookmarks but it was simply that the bookmark bar had been toggled off during the upgrade.

Similarly javascript blocked sites under viasat://settings/content/javascript were lost during the upgrade.

Next time - so many settings, so little time ;)

After the install completed, some of my desktop icons have been hijacked by the Viasat Browser icon.  Why?

I had the same experience as Old Labs mentioned. I had to do a new import of the favorites bar and passwords, etc. Not a big deal, but things didn't work as advertised.

David. Can we keep sparrow as our web browser, my PC Matic won't let me use your new browser? I can't seem to figure out how to block it from my PC Matic!

If the desktop icons represent internet shortcuts (urls), then the icon displayed is that of your default browser. Last I checked the installer made it (the Viasat Browser) the default browser.

Huh!  Guess you are right, I just had never noticed that with other browsers  but I just tried it with Chrome and Firefox as defaults.  And it works the same with them as defaults.

Cindy,
We are going to look into the PC Matic issue that you reported.  In the meantime, feel free to continue using the Sparrow browser.  Once we figure this out, I think you will want to upgrade to take advantage of new features that we will be introducing.
Thanks!

In the following instructions, please use the Windows Explorer (folder browser) and not a web browser:
-Quit the Viasat Browser
-Open Windows Explorer and paste this into the address bar at the top of the window: %LOCALAPPDATA%\ViaSat\Viasat Browser
-In the folder that opens, delete the "User Data" folder

In your task bar, is there an icon shaped like a folder that opens Windows Explorer and let's you browse files and folders on your PC?  This is not in the web browser, but should be on your home screen.

I uninstalled Sparrow before I installed the new browser. I then opened the new browser went to settings and imported from Chrome, which is what I did with Sparrow. My settings, bookmarks, etc. were the same in Chrome and Sparrow. All seems to be working fine.
