I upgraded my modem and added some data capacity.  Haven't change usage habits, but suddenly, I'm over the limit with 10 days left in the month.

Hi Daniel

We had a trial that let customers see more detailed usage. I cannot find it anymore so I think we're about to release a version of it out to our customers. You can in the meantime email us at

We're over as well not even half-way into the bill period with no changes to our system nor change in usage habits. We've only once prior in two years hit the 70% warning and easily found where our DirecTV DVR was the cause but it's not this time. Poor availability of data usage history has been my only complaint with Exede. The service reps can access our previous months' total usage figure, why can't they put that on our bills like cell phone companies communicate data usage figures or utility companies? We're at a loss as to why the drastic change (we think) AND how much data to add to our plan for this billing cycle to get us through without getting frustrated with the speed of our service until our usage resets. On top of all that, once you go over, their meter won't show what you've actually used as it stays pegged at your monthly allowance. I would absolutely volunteer to participate in any trial Exede has for a usage tracking tool. The reply I received from Customer Service directed me to a MyEsvt tool for more information but I can't find it after logging in to our account.

It is interesting to me that we actually just replaced our receiver with a new receiver/wireless router from Exede (I had been operating on a separate router that I set up) and bumped our data available by 5 Gig, not because we had been over the data limit, but because it makes sense it would be faster (than a 10 year old receiver and separate wireless router).  Now the system is slower and using more data - which resulted in using up all the data 10 days before the cycle ends.  There has to be something wrong, but I can't tell what it is and we have very little in the way of diagnostic tools - the most basic tool would be to trend data usage daily.  That is why I posted my question in the first place.

I'm about to examine other ways to get service.  I feel like I have been deceived.....
