Can any of the board helpers give a hint on when Exede subscribers might hear more about improved plans?  I have seen a lot of "stay tuned" but so far no indications of when this might actually happen.  Right now we are not able to get the Freedom plan in our area BUT Hughes is offering a 50 GB plan in our area (with 50 GB of 2 am to 8 am) so a total of 100 GB monthly to use plus their new feature of smart browsing (which sounds the same as Evolution is offering in that if you do go over you can still do standard browsing at normal speeds).  But to make a long story short, my husband and I are ready to pay the ETF and jump ship unless we seen some movement in improved plans on Exede as long term it will save us quite a lot of money.

Thanks for posting the link!  From my research performance (I had the advantage of actually seeing Hughes working at this address via prior owners) should be very similar from both systems here but its still a hassle to switch.  :P

You're welcome,

I did receive their recent mailer about plans in my area and while some benefits the fine print dissuaded me since it was a net wash - that and the fact I really don't need any more holes bored into my roof since that's my only placement option ;)

Here the direction to the satellites must be nearly identical as the Exede installer simply removed the Hughes dish and put theirs on the same bracket and then connected their cables to it and it all seemed to work.  lol  So I assume the switchback should be pretty easy too with no new holes.  What really has had us puzzled is the small dish on our roof that looks like the same thing used up north to connect to the wireless broadband company but so far we don't find anything in the direction its pointing, perhaps one that no longer exists, or maybe he was talking to aliens....another question to ask of the prior owners of the place some day.  ;)

Hello Jacqueline, Old Labs information is spot on. We don't have anything set in stone at this time, but once we do we will let everyone know.
