ALL PROBLEMS

I had my internet installed two days ago, and since the moment it was installed it has sucked. I’ve never once pulled speeds of 12mps or anything close. It’s rarely anything over 2mps and the last two nights it’s been barely 1mps. I woke up today and it’s running at 0.10mps. This is bullshit. I paid for an internet to be able to use. I still have to use my phones data. I had it installed and it had said I already used 2gigs of my data plan when I hadn’t even been on it yet. This internet is shit. If I’d known this than I’d of gone the other way and paid the $180 to get cable WiFi like used to have. I’ve never experienced an internet this shitty. It’s only been 3 days since it’s been installed and I haven’t had a moment where I’ve been able to enjoy it!!!

You should have went with the cable if it was available. Viasat plain and simply sucks. It's only good in the event you have no other options at all (and well it's not good then either but you lack options.)

The Chumpions think that because it says "up to 12 mbps" that .5, 1, 2 and 3 Mbps is acceptable. We all know that 12 Mbps is a bullshit lie, but we could live with 5, 6, or 7 Mbps. This company is built on lies and excuses, now it is spring break clogging up the beams. How would you like a car manufacturer to tell you the car gets up to 30 mpg, and you only get 5 mpg? Lies are lies, "up to 12 Mbps" is really "up to 4 Mbps"!

alex, If you can get cable why in the world would you go with satellite? That decision makes no sense whatsoever.

I’m going to look at my contract and see. I’m pissed. I had it installed 3 days ago and went to work and came home, hadn’t even used it yet, and it had said I was pulling 1mps and already used 2 gigs. It’s bullshit. I’m not paying for something I can’t even use...

OH HOW I WISH I HAD THE CABLE OPTION!  And every one of you new customers they sucker in with their empty promises, makes my connection worse!

Good luck getting out of your contract.  Its pretty ironclad because they KNOW you arent gonna be happy!

I had it put in in August last year. I started checking my speeds back in December when I add Hulu and couldn’t stream a movie. I get between 0.3 to 2 Mbps. I’m supposed to get 12. I have called and complained about it so they ask me to a different speed test site that they recommend. So I did and the speeds were even worse. I jumped through all kinds of hoops plugging and unplugging the modem and router to no avail. A service technician was going to need to come and work on it. No one has ever came out or called. Looks to me like I should be able to take them to court and not only get out of the contract but get my money back. They are charging for a service they have never lived up to or provided.

Sounds like its working if you've managed to use 2 GB of data in two days.

I posted the video on Feb 1st (black history month) in an attempt to troll people that couldn't live without Viasat 2.

YouTube takes down content all the time that they consider offensive and racist. The video I posted has been hosted by Google before they even owned YouTube. Google recognizes it as commedy and has no problem with the video.

Was the video inappropriate? Yes, and I admit I was trying to troll people.

Was the video racist and am I racist? NO.

I'm half white, half Iranian and my wife isn't even from the USA.

I don't mind being called a lot of things and I actually encourage insults against me but I am not racist.

The problem today is the term "racist" (among others) is no longer used to describe the spirit in which a gesture is made, it is 100% dependent on how it is TAKEN.  It may be satire, it may be in jest, but if someone, somewhere might be offended you are WRONG!  And it doesnt help things with these companies so terrified of offending anyone, and going overboard to remain neutral and/or politically correct we dont stand a chance.

Isn't that going a bit overboard?   A company wanting to keep their support community as user friendly as possible and not wanting to have something on the community that might offend someone makes it so we don't stand a chance?

I don't quite get how them not wanting something on the community that someone might find offensive would interfere with a person's ability to find help with an issue or help someone who is experiencing an issue.

And you're right, with many things it is how it's taken, but in this setting how it may be taken is a important thing.  In this setting it's best for them to err on the side of caution.

I figured the post would have gotten taken down and they would have issued me a warning since I'm on here a lot trying to point people in the right direction.

Shoot, I still contribute even though my champion badge was taken away. It takes a lot to hurt my feelings.

Now that I understand more of what the incident actually entailed, I agree.  There should have just been a warning.

I've seen some things on this board that wouldn't be tolerated on my regular one, and nothing is said.  There doesn't seem to be a specific set of guidelines regarding what's allowed and what isn't (unless there is and I'm just not seeing it), so I agree, a warning would have been more appropriate.  Though ultimately inappropriate, compared to some of the things I've seen here I don't think it was that egregious.

And it's good that you do still contribute.  The more people with knowledge, the better.

well... if ya look closely to the speed options... it DOES say UP TO  so therefore... they always say when you sign up... speeds are NOT guarenteed but are upto is it not that hard to find out??? i mean... its spring break for some schools... so that could be the problem so it could be the congestion onto you beam :/   BUT!!! satellite internet is ONLY for people who DO NOTREPEAT DO NOT have cable internet... sooo.... once question for ya... why did ya choose satellite internet IF you had cable internet??? kinda makes me wonder... hmmmm.... :/

To save $10 a month. Some Facebook dealers are even giving out $20 Wal-Mart gift cards to new subscribers. I'm not kidding.

Up to 12 mbps implies that you will get 12 mbps at some time, but usually around 8 or 9, maybe as low as 6 mbps. Getting .5 to 3 mbps 95% of the time is bull! Deception......

I barely get 1Mbps these days. I'm having doubts whether keeping this service is even worth the cost.

Actually, it implies that you may get 12Mbps, not that you will get 12Mbps.
