Evolution vs Liberty

I'm currently on the Evolution Classic 5GB with the 15GB 6-month promo. My promo period ends in twelve days. I was previously told that I would receive the 10GB since they upped the data cap for that plan. When I went to confirm it this week I was pretty much told I wouldn't since the plan is no longer offered. So will I or won't I get the 10GB?!

If I won't be getting the 10GB I was considering switching to the Liberty 12. I don't use the Free Zone since I work late and am sleeping. The most data I've used of the 15GB is almost 4GB. I normally use the Internet late morning to early afternoon.

A few questions: how much data does web browsing really use of the unlimited. I just go on forums and websites. I don't watch movies or stream a lot. I do have to do the occasional download. I do do web work and upload webpages which are mainly text and very rarely images!

Would you switch from Evolution to Liberty?

Thanks for your help and input!

I would take the Liberty plan if it were offered in my area. It is a great plan.

The thing about the Liberty Plan is that rather than being capped off after your primary data, it just slows to 1-5mbps. No free zone, but we feel it's a very good plan. However if you never surpass the 5GB limit on the current plan and like it, you can certainly stay with it (if you change since it's not available in your area anymore it won't be able to be changed back).

I have Liberty 12 plan and am very happy with it. So far my speeds have been great and for me 12 gigs is just right.

Give me Liberty or give me death !!

Well, maybe not death but I'd sure like to see the Liberty plan come to beam 369.

I have the Evolution Plan -  20GB at $90 per month, with 5 hours of free time from 3am to 8am.
I create a lot of graphics and edit a lot of photos.  They all get backed-up to the cloud during the free time so It doesn't get metered.  I have my back-up software scheduled to only do a back-up within the free period. The upload/back-up data is huge, well over 900 GB per month.  Photos can be huge.  Nothing from 3 to 8am counts against my monthly bandwidth allotment.
Also, with the Evolution Plan, basic web surfing and emails don't get counted against your monthly bandwidth allowance.
If you want to watch videos, or back up large files, get one of their plans that has some free time.

I don't have unlimited amounts of power, since I live off the grid, we depend on solar. Since there's no solar coming in during the Free Zones, I'm not on.

Is Customer Care able to look up what the max amount of data I've ever used for everything is? So I can decide what's best?

Yes, they can look that up, and you can log into your account at myexede.net to see your usage.
I thought solar systems had some kind of batteries that get charged during the day so you have juice at night?

If you have a really large one your fine. But I have a smaller one to power the essentials and the modem takes a lot out of it.

You sound like someone that Liberty would work very well for.  We had Evolution prior to Liberty and to be honest, we don't see much difference in data use on Liberty compared to Evolution so sometimes I wonder if Evolution didn't really work out as well as intended in not counting certain activities and counting others as I would have expected to see more of an increase in counted use when we switched.  That being said,  we have been over a couple times and saw little or no change in how well the internet worked for us while we were on the Liberty Pass, I was able to access pages easily and stream some videos.  As long as you don't have excessive downloading needs (which I would guess would be daily upload/download of huge files) you should be quite satisfied with Liberty.

Thanks everyone for your input. I don't use it during peak hours since I'm at work. So I'm thinking it would be a good option.
