5GB promo

I read something on the exede blog about giving away 5GB chunks to customers to use when needed. I read it recently, but don't recall how long ago the post was. If this is still available, may we use that to get us through the next week or so? We've used much more data than usual this
month due to the holidays (kids home, family visiting) so it would be a great help this month.

Also, I did a couple large downloads during the free-zone this past week. Is there any way to verify that these were not included in our total?

All you need to do is send an email to exedelistens@viasat.com. Mine typical says
"Please add 5GB to our account, ##########, under the Great GB Giveaway."

It's called take a screenshot of your data before you start downloading after  midnight if you don't trust the folks.

Bobbie - Last I heard, you could request GGG plus ups in 5GB increments for a total of 30GB over a six month period.  So you could go back to the well more than once in the same month, or request a 10, 15GB... chunk all at once.  I did see one posting from an Exede employee that the six month limit had been removed, but that is not what I was originally told.  I think things are evolving as Exede tries to meet customer demands.

Aw ok, they gave me 5 gig once but I got it on the 5th and my data renewed on the 8th so I never used any of it.  Thanks for the info.  (  Please  if you're going to surprise me Kim wait until after the 8th :) )

I received the 5 GB just this once, but was told I don't qualify for it since I'm not on the Classic 12 Plan.  What is that plan?  I don't see it as an option.

You're welcome Dan. At this point, the Giveaway doesn't have an end date so you should be able to use it once you're out of the promo period.

Kimberly I"m very new with exede I have the bonus 10 with the total 20 . Anyway you could set me up with extra 5 after my first 6 month . I thinking we will need 10 to 15 per month

If something seems off we're always willing to help out. There's a lot of work being done by our engineers right now to pin down any usage reporting issues. Happy to fill the gap until we have more definitive answers.

There's a lot of work being done by our engineers right now to pin down any usage reporting issues. --  Is this an admission that some of the data usage complaints actually are on the Exede side of things, or are you just saying that the engineers are working on improving the details of data usage for the customer?

JEP, it's just a general comment indicating that our engineers keep a close eye on our usage meter and we do our best to ensure its accuracy. Often, the issue relates to usage our subscribers don’t realize is happening (auto-loading videos on websites or automatic software updates, to cite two common examples). We understand that, for customers, just having the service work without data problems is what they want, and we work with people on an individual basis all the time to help them sort through any data issues.

There are times when the data normally 3 gigs just disappear. I've been around long enough to know whether it is on my end or not, tyvm
