Well After 1 month on Viasat2 50mbps Gold plan I used https://prnt.sc/kakvgm GB and other than a few times when there was outages affecting my speeds Im Very happy! No Problems with Videos or anything! I most likely will not use 379gb again anytime soon I was just testing it out! My download speed has been 68-72mbps around the clock except once I got a little higher on up in GB use it seemed at times I was down to around 30mbps not sure if it was network problems are not! But Overall Im happy and Hopefully It will be awhile before Im slowed so far down that I cant watch videos!

Glad it is working out for you and thanks for the report!

I dont think you have to worry about it slowing down anytime soon. First, you are on a high density spot beam available to not that many. Second, the price of the Gold is pretty steep and not sure how many that can buy it will.

Aren't all those on the same beam affected by more people buying service on that beam, regardless of the plan they choose, or, in the OP's case, is he only affected by those who purchase the same Gold plan?

And when I say affected I mean as the beam becomes more loaded with customers, not right now.

You ate correct Gabe. I want very clear. Gold offers higher speed and more priority data. Platinum even more. If there are more of those types of customers on the beam, it will get banged harder to support the premium plans. People with the lower cost plans should be further back, especially when they run out of priority data.

I wasn't sure, as they're coming up with new things every day.  I thought that, maybe, there was a new way of delivering with spot beams in that they could further subdivide a beam along the lines of the plans available, like a certain number of "channels", with each being for a specific plan and an allowable number of customers for that plan (and channel).

Ok thats good to know I thought I would be put behind others regardless of what plan they are on if beam is congested! Yeah Most ppl Im sure are on the silver plan which is $100

I am not saying you wouldn't, but I think Viasat-2 is only going to provide "unlimited" plans. If designed right, and that is a big if, I would think they would deliver speed to support 780p video at least.

Yea. While I have Freedom now, I would seriously consider the 50Mbps Gold plan, also it is not available to me. But basic principles will not allow me to pay the same money you do ($150+) for an lesser plan.

I could go on a rant on Viasat's whole pricing structure but I will stay silent. I can even buy variable pricing based on plan features, but when you charge more to a customer and provide less, that is an outright slap in the face to the consumer and I hope the marketplace responds accordingly.

Yeah If I didnt have others helping I couldnt afford it either, Yeah I agree on prices its not fair too all because some plans that are the same are higher for others But Im guessing my 50mbps plan will come down a little eventually maybe down to $125 per month! I know like every 3-6 months or so It seems they come out with new plans
