This plan allows unlimited data but any video you watch such as Netflix and Youtube will be low quality (350p). If you don't mind spending the money, you will be more happy with the 480p or 720p video quality plans.

It also means the beam in your area is more prone to congestion than other beams.

Now when I sign on to my account, I only have Liberty 12, Liberty 25, and Liberty 50 available.
When I do a search on the website for new customer plans, using my same zip code, all I see is unlimited plans.
So for now, Viasat is starting to limit who can and can't get unlimited plans. I'm perfectly happy with my Liberty 12 plan, so I could care less.
Of course, once Viasat 2 goes live early next year everything I just mentioned will change and there will be all sorts of new plans available for everyone.

But you could talk and send messages 7 x 24 x 365. So there is that.

"Honest" unlimited?
Think about it: There is no way that a Sat provider will be able to satisfy the data requirements of an infinite number of users using satellite and ground based equipment that has finite capacity.

Only in satellite internet are we ever made to feel like using a service we pay for is somehow a gift that we’ve been given.
I’ve had ViaSat in some form for many years. It’s a good company. I don’t, however, understand why lots of forum members seem to be ok with holding ViaSat to a low standard. You will usually get what you demand in life.
ViaSat 1 is obviously currently oversold everywhere but a few select beams. We know this and why. Doesn’t make it right. The fact that excess bandwidth is wasted because it can’t be transferred to other beams was a poorly thought out setup. Hopefully, ViaSat 2, as I understand it, has the ability to transfer excess to busier beams which will even the playing field. Those that have had truly unlimited usable data even on Liberty Pass will soon know what beam congestion feels like when ViaSat 2 becomes full.
We all hope it will be the opposite, but from what I’m seeing on here, people are looking to unlimited plans to be just that. Means we will see a major jump in usage all around as soon as new plans are offered.

Right now the beam/gateway design as we know it has issues because the pipe us only so big and once the pipe is full of data it takes longer to empty the drain as the data backs up.
