I'd like to see a chart showing where the different plans stand in bandwidth priority.

let's see where we stand according to which plan we have subscribed to, or what criteria is used to determine the speed we will experience, even at different times of the day.

Craig: If you have priority data, you're at the front of the line. If you've used up your priority data, you go to the back of the line on a Classic or Essential plan and if you're on a Liberty or Freedom plan you're ahead of them (but still behind priority data). Sorry, don't have a chart for that.
As to the second part of your question, the speeds are impacted by traffic on the network, determined by user activity during the course of the day.

If I'm not mistaking "Fair Use" means just that, they do not limit data speeds, and they treat all customers the same.

Even though I believe the more you pay the more "Priority" your data send and receive should get.

It's not fair to give me the same priority on a Freedom 150GB/25Mbps plan as they do with someone one on a stripped down Classic 10 plan.

AGAIN IT'S TOTALLY NOT FAIR A CLASSIC (CHEAP'O) PLAN SPEED NEVER GETS AS LOW AS MINE DOES ON THE 150GB FREEDOM PLAN AND I'M SPENDING WAY MORE MONEY WITH EXEDE!

Alex, a lot of use aren't sure how to follow Craig.  I have had the 150gig plan for over a year with no speed problems. No throttling. It sounds like Craig has Jerry rigged something to have access to two accounts and his NSA friends are helping him.

Using multiple monitors, I do see my internet behavior constantly.  The engineering test performed here a few months ago were conclusive and showed things that would cause more damage to ViaSat than I was willing to inflict.  I don't hate ViaSat, obviously, but I do not appreciate the "smoke and mirrors" tactics they use on customers trying to show they can fulfill their service agreements and implied capabilities when they are outright bluffing.  ViaSat-1 is grossly overbooked and exede will never admit it rather they will try to put on a facade showing how robust Viasat-1 is by enlarging data plans, offering higher speeds, etc. all of which they can not deliver, but it all looks good, and that is what a facade is all about, to hide what is really there.

I also do not condemn exede / ViaSat for what they are doing.  I don't like it but I will have to suffer some form of tangible damage before I would actually take legal action against them and this simply being the internet, it is not likely to happen.  ViaSat is "shooting for the stars" and has to take risk like any other business to get there.  Nobody at ViaSat could have foreseen the troubles at Space-X or the problems now delaying the launch of ViaSat-2.

Meanwhile, life must go on.  A formidable competitor has launched and put into service a satellite capable of stealing every single residential customer exede has and still have capacity to spare.  What is exede to do?  They have chosen to put on the illusion that things are great, something I disagree with.  We all have our opinions and ViaSat is entitled to theirs.  My own opinion is that exede customers will be loyal if the company approaches them sincerely, explaining that commitments were made that relied on ViaSat-2 being operational by now, but it isn't.  Explain how ViaSat-1 is temporarily saturated and  ask for patience assuring that this situation is being resolved as fast as humanly possible.  Commit to enhanced bonus plans for the first year of ViaSat-2's service for all exede subscribers that transfer over when it is operational, a type of reward for loyalty, a "thanks for sticking by us in our times of trouble" type thing. Who would switch to another provider if there was actually going to be a real benefit for staying with exede??  A form of payback would be on the horizon. During the first year of operation, ViaSat-2 can afford such a plan.

For now, there are 2 subscriptions here and they have totally different operating characteristics and no remedy.

Oh...  Anybody can have 2 or more accounts.  These are both here but in different names for specific reasons, one being that we are not allowed to share our internet connection so my renter has to have his own.  I'm not affiliated with the NSA or any other government agency or organization. I do have close ties within the technical community of Silicon Valley.
